Your Health Action Plan for Diabetes
Diabetes itself is a serious condition, but it’s also one that can cause many other severe health problems. Diabetes increases your risk of death by heart attack and is the leading cause of blindness in the United States. It is also the leading cause of amputation of the lower extremities, because it destroys both the small blood vessels and the peripheral nerves in your legs.
Conventional medicine does not address these risks, but in this article, I’ll show you how diabetes can be safely and effectively managed and even reversed, and how diabetes-related conditions can be prevented. This program has worked extremely well for my patients with diabetes, and it is radically different from the conventional approach, which mainly focuses on lowering blood sugar levels with insulin or oral drugs such as Micronase, Glyberide, and Glucotrol. What the conventional approach does not recognize is that most diabetics produce too much of their own insulin, not too little.
Only 10 percent of all diabetics actually produce too little insulin. They are called insulin-dependent (type I) diabetics, and likely will always need insulin replacement.
However, 90 percent of diabetics have non insulin-dependent (type II) diabetes. Rather than having an insulin deficiency, these patients produce two to three times the normal level, but their insulin simply doesn’t work-a condition called insulin resistance. When the contributing factors—a high-fat diet, lack of exercise, and obesity—are addressed, and proper nutritional supplements are given, insulin resistance can be reversed. That’s precisely what we’ll accomplish with this action plan.
